Well, yes, that was rather a rude thing to say–unkind, too.
But I believe her husband is unfaithful,
And she’s not very attractive, either, though she dresses well.
Her son, too, was killed in the war.
Now she’s alone in a loveless marriage
With no one she trusts to talk to.
She’s afraid of what else might happen if more things change
What will her place be, then?
When she can’t control others, what will happen to her?
No wonder she’s afraid.
